Wuwei's Climate
Wuwei lies on the Hexi Corridor in Gansu province, northwest China, on high ground near the edge of the Gobi Desert, giving it a cold-desert arid climate. Rainfall is very low and concentrated in summer, and the air stays dry year-round. Summers (June–August) are hot and dry, reaching 28–33°C by day but cooling sharply at night thanks to the large diurnal range. Winters (December–February) are very cold and dry, typically -8 to -15°C, with dusty winds and clear skies. Spring often brings sandstorms blown in from the desert, while autumn is cool, dry and pleasant.
