Zhangjiagang's Climate
Zhangjiagang lies in southern Jiangsu province in eastern China, on the south bank of the lower Yangtze near its mouth, giving it a humid subtropical monsoon climate with four clear seasons. Summers (June–August) are hot, humid and muggy, marked by the early-summer meiyu plum rains and thunderstorms and occasionally affected by typhoons off the East China Sea, with temperatures typically 28–34°C, while winters (December–February) are mild and damp as the northeasterly monsoon can drop readings to around 0–5°C. Spring is wet with persistent drizzle, and autumn (September–November) is dry, cool and the most pleasant time of year.
