Zhanjiang's Climate
Zhanjiang sits at the southern tip of Guangdong province, on the Leizhou Peninsula facing the South China Sea, with a hot, humid tropical monsoon climate year-round. The summer and wet season (May–October) is hot, muggy and rainy, typically 30–34°C with very high humidity, and this is the most typhoon-prone part of mainland China, while winters (December–February) are warmer and drier, around 18–22°C by day and rarely cold. Surrounded by sea on three sides, the city enjoys a moderating sea breeze and seldom sees temperature extremes.
