Zhaoqing's Climate
Zhaoqing lies in western Guangdong in southern China, inland on the Xi (West) River yet close to the Pearl River delta, giving it a humid subtropical climate strongly shaped by the monsoon. Summers (May–September) are hot, humid and sticky, with frequent showers, thunderstorms and the occasional remnants of typhoons drifting in from the South China Sea; highs typically reach 30–35°C amid very high humidity. Winters (December–February) are cooler and drier, with chilly spells of 8–12°C but rarely severe cold. Spring brings a clammy dampness while autumn is cool and pleasant.
