Summers (May–September) are hot and humid, with daytime highs usually 31–35°C, frequent showers and thunderstorms, and the occasional tropical cyclone tracking in from the South China Sea, while winters (December–February) are mild and drier, with highs of 15–20°C and rarely any sharp cold. Spring is damp and often foggy, while autumn (October–November) is cool, dry and the most pleasant time of year.
