Agra's Climate
Agra lies on the banks of the Yamuna River in Uttar Pradesh, in the inland Gangetic plain of northern India, with a hot semi-arid subtropical climate. Summers (April–June) are extremely hot and dry, usually 40–45°C and sometimes above 47°C, driven by scorching loo winds. The monsoon (July–September) brings showers and thunderstorms that ease the heat a little but push humidity up sharply. Winters (December–February) are mild, with nights dropping to 6–10°C and frequent dense fog blanketing the plain. Air quality tends to be poor in winter.
