Cagayan de Oro's Climate
Cagayan de Oro sits on the northern coast of Mindanao in the southern Philippines, on Macajalar Bay at a low latitude of about 8.5°N, giving it a hot, humid tropical climate with steady temperatures of roughly 24–32°C all year. Its southern position spares it most of the typhoons that hit the rest of the Philippines, but it still has a clear wet season: rainfall and thunderstorms peak from around June to November, while February to April are the driest and sunniest months. Humidity stays high nearly year-round, and monsoon flows with afternoon downpours are the signature weather.
