Davao's Climate
Davao lies on the southeastern coast of Mindanao in the southern Philippines, along Davao Gulf and close to the equator, giving it a hot, humid tropical climate with steady temperatures year-round, usually 24–33°C. Rain is fairly evenly spread across the months because surrounding mountains shelter the city, so there is no pronounced dry season; the wetter stretch tends to fall between May and October with afternoon showers and thunderstorms. A notable feature is that Davao sits outside the main Philippine typhoon belt, so direct landfalls are very rare. High humidity keeps things muggy all year, though sea breezes take the edge off.
