Dhanbad's Climate
Dhanbad lies in Jharkhand on the Chota Nagpur plateau in eastern India, an inland coalfield region of gently raised terrain. It has a humid subtropical climate with three distinct seasons. Summers (March–June) are very hot and dry, usually 37–43°C, with hot winds and dust; the monsoon (June–September) then brings heavy rain, cloud and high humidity, delivering most of the year's rainfall, while winters (December–February) are cool and dry, with nights easing to 8–12°C. Thanks to its plateau setting, winter nights here tend to be cooler than on the neighbouring plains.
