Dodoma's Climate
Dodoma is the capital of Tanzania, set on the country's central plateau at about 1,100 m and deep inland, in the southern hemisphere, so its seasons run opposite to the northern calendar. It has a tropical semi-arid climate (Köppen BSh) with low, uneven rainfall. The short, concentrated rainy season (roughly December–April) brings showers and thunderstorms, with daytime highs of 28–31°C. The long dry season (May–October) is sunny with low humidity, warm by day and mild at night, easing to 12–16°C thanks to the elevation.
