Zanzibar's Climate
Zanzibar is a tropical archipelago off the eastern coast of Tanzania, in the Indian Ocean just south of the equator, giving it a hot, humid tropical climate strongly shaped by the monsoon. Temperatures stay steady at 26–32°C all year thanks to the moderating sea. There are two rainy seasons: the long rains (March–May) bring heavy near-daily downpours, while the short rains (November–December) are briefer. In between lie warm, sunny dry seasons, with June–September cooler under the southeast monsoon and January–February hot and sticky.
