Indore's Climate
Indore sits on the Malwa plateau at about 550 m in Madhya Pradesh, central India, giving it a tropical semi-arid climate with three clear seasons. Summers (March–June) are very hot and dry, with daytime highs usually 38–42°C and sometimes above 43°C before the rains arrive. The southwest monsoon (July–September) brings showers and thunderstorms that break the heat and deliver most of the year's rainfall. Winters (November–February) are dry, cool and comfortable, with nights that can dip to 8–12°C. The plateau elevation keeps Indore noticeably milder than many surrounding plains.
