Istanbul Climate
Straddling the Bosphorus between two seas, Istanbul has a transitional climate between Mediterranean and humid subtropical, with high humidity year-round. Summers (June to September) are hot and muggy at 26–30°C with little rain but occasional thunderstorms, while winters (December to March) are cool, damp and cloudy at 6–10°C, sometimes bringing snow when cold air sweeps down from the north. Rain is spread across many months, and chilly northerly winds and fog over the strait are signature features.
