Konya's Climate
Konya sits on the Anatolian plateau in central Turkey, at roughly 1,000 m above sea level in a dry inland region far from the sea, giving it a cold, semi-arid continental climate. Summers (June–September) are hot and very dry with intense sun, daytime temperatures typically 28–33°C but nights cooling noticeably thanks to the altitude, while winters (December–February) are freezing, with frequent spells below 0°C bringing snowfall and frost. Spring and autumn are short and mild and are when most of the rain falls, though total annual rainfall stays low.
