Jamshedpur's Climate
Jamshedpur sits on the Chota Nagpur plateau in Jharkhand, northeastern India, an inland industrial city set among low hills beside the Subarnarekha River. It has a tropical monsoon climate with three clear seasons: a very hot summer (March–May), usually 35–42°C and dry; a monsoon (June–September) that brings heavy rain, high humidity and slightly cooler air; and a dry, cool winter (November–February), when nights can fall to 10–14°C and conditions are at their most pleasant. Its modest elevation makes it a touch less punishing than the neighbouring plains.
