Kanpur's Climate
Kanpur is a large industrial city on the banks of the Ganges in Uttar Pradesh, deep in the plains of northern India. It has a humid subtropical climate with three main seasons driven by the monsoon. Summers (April–June) are very hot and dry, usually 38–44°C by day and sometimes above 45°C with the hot loo wind, while the monsoon (July–September) is humid with heavy showers and thunderstorms. Winters (December–February) are cool and pleasant, around 18–24°C by day, though nights can fall to 6–9°C and often come with dense fog and polluted air.
