Khulna's Climate
Khulna lies in southwestern Bangladesh, near the delta and the Sundarbans mangrove forest, and has a tropical monsoon climate (Köppen Aw). The pre-monsoon summer (March–May) is very hot and sticky, usually 33–38°C with high humidity, while the monsoon (June–October) brings prolonged heavy rain, high moisture and a real risk of flooding. Winter (November–February) is the coolest, driest and most pleasant stretch, with temperatures around 12–28°C. This coastal region also feels the effects of tropical cyclones spinning up over the Bay of Bengal, especially in April–May and October–November.
