Rangpur's Climate
Rangpur lies on the northern plains of Bangladesh, inland and near the foothills of the Himalayas, giving it a tropical monsoon climate with three fairly distinct seasons. The summer monsoon (June–September) is hot, humid and very wet, with daytime highs around 31–34°C and frequent flooding as rivers swell with mountain runoff, while winter (December–February) is cool and dry, about 22–25°C by day but falling to 9–12°C at night with thick morning fog. In between comes a hot, dry pre-monsoon spring (March–May). It is one of the coolest parts of Bangladesh in winter.
