Kota's Climate
Kota sits on the banks of the Chambal River in south-eastern Rajasthan, northern India, with a hot semi-arid climate deep inland. Summers (March-June) are dry and blisteringly hot, with daytime highs typically 38-44°C and occasional spells above 45°C driven by hot, dry loo winds. From late June to September the south-west monsoon brings showers and thunderstorms that ease the heat while pushing humidity up. Winters (December-February) are cool and dry, with nights dropping to 8-12°C under gentle, pleasant sunshine.
