Lucknow's Climate
Lucknow is the capital of Uttar Pradesh, set on the Ganges plain in northern India, well inland. It has a humid subtropical climate with three clear seasons: summer, monsoon and winter. Summers (April–June) are extremely hot and dry, with daytime highs usually of 38–43°C and bouts of the scorching loo wind. The monsoon from July to September brings showers, thunderstorms and high humidity that break the heat but leave the air muggy. Winters (December–February) are cool and dry, with nights that can drop to 6–10°C and dense fog on many mornings.
