Madinah's Climate

Madinah lies on the inland highland plateau of western Saudi Arabia, at roughly 600 m elevation amid arid mountains, and has a classic hot desert climate. Summers (May–September) are extremely hot and dry, with daytime highs typically 40–45°C and occasional spikes above 47°C under clear, near-rainless skies, while winters (December–February) are pleasantly mild, with warm days of 20–25°C but nights that can dip to 10–14°C. Annual rainfall is very low and comes as a few sudden showers in late winter and early spring. Desert dust and wind occasionally haze the sky.
