Riyadh's Climate
Deep in the Najd plateau at the heart of the Arabian Peninsula, Riyadh has a classic hot desert climate defined by extreme summers and very little rainfall. From May to September, daytime highs routinely exceed 42-45°C in dry, baking air, while winters (December-February) are pleasantly cool with nights that can drop below 10°C. Rain is rare and falls mostly as scattered spring showers that occasionally trigger sudden flash floods, and dust storms can cut visibility with little warning.
