Nashik's Climate
Nashik sits on the Deccan plateau in Maharashtra, western India, at roughly 560 m elevation, which keeps it cooler than many cities at the same latitude; its climate is tropical savanna (Köppen Aw). Summer (March–May) is hot and dry, with daytime highs usually 35–40°C, while the monsoon (June–September) brings heavy rain, thick cloud and softer, humid air. Winter (November–February) is cool and dry, with nights that can fall to 10–14°C thanks to the altitude. That elevated setting gives Nashik pleasant evenings and makes it one of India's best-known wine-growing regions.
