Nowrangapur's Climate
Nowrangapur (Nabarangpur) sits on an upland plateau in south-western Odisha, deep inland in eastern India, giving it a tropical monsoon climate with three distinct seasons. Summers (March–May) are hot and dry, with daytime highs usually 34–40°C and occasional fierce heat; the southwest monsoon (June–September) brings showers, thunderstorms and abundant rainfall that turns the landscape lush green; and winters (November–February) are dry and cool, with nights that can dip to 10–14°C thanks to the elevation and inland setting. With no coastal moderation, the day-to-night temperature swing is wide.
