Patna's Climate
Patna is the capital of Bihar, India, set on the Ganges plain in the northern interior, and has a humid subtropical climate with three clear seasons. Summer (April–June) is very hot and dry, usually 38–43°C, sometimes with the searing loo wind. The southwest monsoon (June–September) brings heavy rain, high humidity and a risk of flooding along the Ganges. Winter (December–February) is cool and dry, pleasant by day but with nights that can drop to 7–12°C and thick early-morning fog. The transition between summer and the monsoon is typically muggy and oppressive.
