Raipur's Climate
Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, sits on the central Indian plateau, far inland from any coast, with a tropical savanna climate (Köppen Aw). Summers (March–June) are intensely hot and dry, typically 38–44°C and sometimes above 45°C in May. The southwest monsoon (June–September) brings heavy rain that eases the heat but leaves the air humid and sticky. Winters (November–February) are dry, cool and pleasant, with nights dipping to 10–14°C. The post-monsoon lull around October sees skies gradually clearing.
