Santiago de los Caballeros's Climate
Santiago de los Caballeros lies in the fertile Cibao valley of northern Dominican Republic, inland from the Atlantic coast and sheltered by surrounding mountain ranges. It has a tropical savanna climate, warm and humid all year, with daytime highs typically 30–33°C. A relatively drier, sunnier season runs from December to April, while the main wet season falls between May and November, bringing afternoon showers and thunderstorms; this also overlaps the peak Atlantic hurricane months of August to October. Nights in the valley tend to be a little cooler than on the coast.
