Santo Domingo Oeste's Climate
Santo Domingo Oeste is the western municipality of the Dominican Republic's capital region, on the south coast of Hispaniola beside the Caribbean Sea, with a hot, humid tropical climate (Köppen Aw) year-round. Daytime highs stay steady at about 30–33°C, with high humidity and sea trade winds taking the edge off the heat. Rather than four seasons, it has a wet and a dry period: rain peaks in May–June and August–November with afternoon thunderstorms, while the early months of the year are drier. The Atlantic hurricane season, June to November, can bring storms and heavy rain.
