Santo Domingo Este's Climate
Santo Domingo Este is the eastern municipality of the Dominican Republic's capital region, on the left bank of the Ozama River along the south coast of Hispaniola facing the Caribbean. It has a hot, humid tropical climate (Köppen Aw) for most of the year, with daytime highs typically 30–33°C, tempered by sea trade winds. Instead of four seasons, it has a wet and a dry period: rain is abundant in May–June and August–November with afternoon thunderstorms, while the early months are drier. The Atlantic hurricane season, June to November, can bring heavy rain and strong winds.
