Santo Domingo's Climate
Santo Domingo is the capital of the Dominican Republic, sitting on the Caribbean coast of southern Hispaniola with a hot, humid tropical climate and steady temperatures all year. Daytime highs are usually 29–32°C and nights around 21–24°C, tempered by sea-breeze trade winds. Instead of hot and cold seasons, it has a relatively dry stretch (December to March) and a rainy season with two peaks, in May–June and again in August–November. It also lies within the Atlantic hurricane belt, with the peak storm season from August to October. The UV index stays very high for much of the year.
