Teni's Climate
Teni (Theni) lies in south-western Tamil Nadu in southern India, right at the foot of the Western Ghats, so hills and plantations rise nearby. Its climate is hot and tropical with three fairly distinct phases: a hot season from March to June that turns oppressive, with daytime highs usually 33–38°C; a relatively drier spell in between; and the main rains arriving with the northeast monsoon from October to December, when showers and thunderstorms sharply increase. Sheltered beside the Ghats, some areas stay cooler and greener than the neighbouring plains. It rarely feels truly cold, though winter evenings can be milder.
