Campinas's Climate
Campinas lies inland in São Paulo state in southeastern Brazil, on a plateau around 680–850 m above sea level, which gives it a milder humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cwa) than the coast. Being in the Southern Hemisphere, its seasons are reversed: summers (December–March) are warm and wet, with daytime highs of about 28–31°C and afternoon showers and thunderstorms, while winters (June–August) are dry and cool, around 24–26°C by day but dropping to 8–12°C at night, with occasional light frost in outlying areas. The altitude sharpens the day-night contrast and keeps the air fresher.
