Curitiba's Climate
Curitiba is the capital of Paraná state in southern Brazil, sitting on a plateau around 900 m above sea level; being south of the equator, its seasons are reversed from the Northern Hemisphere. Its elevation gives it a cool, humid subtropical climate that is noticeably milder than much of Brazil. Summers (December–March) are warm and humid, usually 25–30°C with frequent afternoon showers and thunderstorms, while winters (June–August) are cold and drier, with nights often 6–10°C and occasional frost. The weather is changeable through the day, with morning fog common.
