Recife's Climate
Recife sits on the Atlantic coast of northeast Brazil, just south of the equator, giving it a hot and humid tropical monsoon climate almost all year. Temperatures barely swing, usually 24–30°C, rarely dropping below 21°C or topping 33°C thanks to cooling southeasterly sea breezes. The wet season runs March to August (autumn and winter in the southern hemisphere), when heavy showers and thunderstorms can linger and cause local flooding, while the drier spell from September to February is sunny with fine beach weather. Humidity stays high throughout, making it feel muggier than the thermometer suggests.
