Caracas's Climate
Caracas is the capital of Venezuela, tucked into a mountain valley near the Caribbean coast at around 900 m elevation, close to the equator but tempered by its altitude. As a result it has a mild subtropical highland climate that stays comfortable all year, with daytime highs usually 24–29°C and cooler nights. Being in the northern hemisphere near the equator, it lacks four distinct seasons and instead splits into a dry season (December–April) with clear, sunny skies and a wet season (May–November) full of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Humidity runs higher during the wet months.
