Maturín's Climate
Maturín is the capital of Monagas state, set on the inland plains of northeastern Venezuela near the Orinoco basin. At its low, near-equatorial latitude the city has a hot, humid tropical savanna climate with two clear seasons, wet and dry, rather than four. Daytime highs hold steady around 30–34°C almost all year, with warm nights. The wet season (May–November) brings frequent showers and thunderstorms, high humidity and plenty of cloud, while the dry season (December–April) is sunnier and drier with steady trade winds. There is no true cold season.
