Cúcuta's Climate
Cúcuta lies in northeastern Colombia near the Venezuelan border, set in a low river valley at around 320 m elevation, which gives it a hot tropical savanna climate nearly year-round. Temperatures stay consistently high, with daytime readings typically 30–33°C and little variation month to month. Rather than four seasons, the year splits into dry and wet spells: the rainiest stretches fall around April–May and September–November, with drier periods early and mid-year. The air is often hot, dry and dusty in the dry season, easing when afternoon thunderstorms roll in.
