Medellín's Climate
Medellín sits in the Aburrá Valley of the Andes at about 1,500 m in north-western Colombia, giving it a mild tropical highland climate famous for its nickname, the "City of Eternal Spring." Thanks to the altitude, temperatures barely change through the year, with daytime highs typically 22–28°C and cool nights of 15–17°C. Being near the equator, it has no four seasons but a rainfall pattern instead: two main wet seasons around April–May and September–November, separated by drier spells in December–February and June–August. Rain usually comes as afternoon showers and thunderstorms.
