León de los Aldama lies in Guanajuato state on Mexico's central highlands at roughly 1,800 m, giving it a mild semi-arid climate that stays temperate year-round. Its high elevation makes days warm and nights cool, with a marked day-to-night temperature swing. The dry season (November–April) brings clear skies, plentiful sun, dry air and chilly nights that can fall to 5–8°C, while the rainy season (June–September) delivers afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms that ease the heat. April and May are usually the warmest months before the rains arrive, around 30–32°C.
