Malacca's Climate
Malacca stands on the Strait of Malacca along the west coast of the Malay Peninsula, close to the equator, in southwestern Malaysia. It has a hot, humid equatorial tropical climate all year, with daytime highs typically 30–33°C and nights rarely dropping below 23–24°C, and humidity always high. There is no cold season; instead the weather is governed by two monsoons. Rain is heaviest late in the year with the northeast monsoon (roughly October–December), while the southwest monsoon (May–September) is drier yet still brings late-afternoon showers and thunderstorms almost year-round. The UV index is usually very high.
