Trujillo's Climate
Trujillo lies on the desert coast of northern Peru, at the edge of the Pacific coastal desert, and has a mild coastal desert climate (Köppen BWh/BWk) tempered by the cold Humboldt Current. Being in the southern hemisphere, its seasons are reversed: summer (December–March) is the warmest and sunniest, with daytime highs around 26–29°C, while winter (June–September) is cool and cloudy at about 16–20°C, often overcast in the mornings. It stays almost dry year-round with very low rainfall, though a rare El Niño can bring unusually heavy rain.
