Tshikapa's Climate
Tshikapa lies in the Kasaï region of the south-western Democratic Republic of the Congo, at the confluence of the Kasaï and Tshikapa rivers in low-lying terrain just south of the equator, giving it a hot, humid tropical savanna climate for most of the year. Daytime highs stay steady around 28–32°C with little seasonal change. The wet season is long, running from about September to May with frequent afternoon showers and thunderstorms, while a short, cooler dry season falls mid-year (June–August) since the city lies in the southern hemisphere, bringing clearer skies and lower humidity.
