Benoni's Climate
Benoni sits on the Highveld plateau of Gauteng province in South Africa, at roughly 1,600 m above sea level, so despite its subtropical latitude the climate is far milder and drier than many places on the same parallel. Summers (October–March) are warm, with daytime highs of 24–28°C and frequent late-afternoon showers and thunderstorms, while winters (May–August) are dry and sunny, with pleasant days near 16–19°C but sharply cold nights that can drop below freezing with frost. Because the city lies in the Southern Hemisphere, its seasons are the reverse of the north.
