Cape Town's Climate

Cape Town has a classic Mediterranean climate, with dry, sunny summers (December–February) where temperatures usually sit between 20–28°C and occasionally spike past 35°C during heat spells. Winters (June–August) are cool and wet, 8–18°C, delivering most of the city's annual rainfall as Atlantic cold fronts roll through. A strong south-easterly wind known as the "Cape Doctor" blows for much of summer, scrubbing the air clean and draping the famous "tablecloth" of cloud over Table Mountain.
