Ibadan's Climate
Ibadan lies inland in southwestern Nigeria, about 120 km north of the coast, on low rolling hills near the edge of the tropical forest belt. It has a tropical savanna climate, hot and humid year-round with two clear seasons defined by rainfall. The long rainy season runs March to October with frequent showers and thunderstorms, peaking in June and September, broken by a short mid-season 'August break'. The dry season (November–February) is hot and largely rainless, marked by the dry, dusty harmattan wind blowing off the Sahara that hazes the sky. Daytime highs hold fairly steady around 28–34°C.
