Ilorin's Climate
Ilorin lies inland in north-central Nigeria, at the southern edge of the savanna belt, and has a tropical savanna climate (Köppen Aw) with two clear seasons. The rainy season runs from April to October, bringing frequent showers and thunderstorms carried in by the moist south-westerly monsoon off the Gulf of Guinea, with milder temperatures around 27–31°C. The dry season, November to March, is hot and dusty under the harmattan, a dry wind from the Sahara that hazes the sky and sharply lowers humidity; February and March are the hottest, sometimes topping 37°C.
