Karaj's Climate
Karaj lies just west of Tehran in northern Iran, at the foot of the Alborz mountains at about 1,300 m, giving it a cold semi-arid continental climate with sharply contrasting seasons. Summers (June–September) are hot and very dry, usually 32–38°C by day under strong sun but easing at night thanks to the altitude, while winters (December–February) are cold, with chilly days around −2 to 5°C, frost and occasional snow, especially on higher ground near the mountains. In between, spring and autumn are mild and pleasant, and they bring most of the year's rather modest rainfall.
