Tabriz's Climate
Tabriz sits in northwestern Iran, in East Azerbaijan province, on an inland plateau at roughly 1,350 m near the Sahand mountains, giving it a semi-arid continental climate with a wide temperature range. Summers (June–August) are hot and dry, with daytime highs usually 28–33°C but cooler nights thanks to the elevation. Winters (December–February) are cold, with frost and snow and temperatures often below 0°C, dipping to around -10°C in cold spells. Spring and autumn are short and mild and bring most of the year's rain, while summer stays fairly dry.
