Sokoto's Climate
Sokoto lies in far north-western Nigeria, on the southern edge of the Sahara and the inland Sahel, with a hot semi-arid climate and blazing sun for most of the year. The long dry season runs from October to April, hot and intensely dry, peaking in March–May when daytime highs commonly reach 38–45°C; through winter the dry, dusty harmattan wind blows off the desert and hazes the sky. A short rainy season from June to September brings tropical showers and thunderstorms, though total rainfall stays low. It rarely feels cool, though dry-season nights can be milder.
