Omsk's Climate
Omsk lies in southwestern Siberia, on the Irtysh River amid Russia's vast steppe, with a severe humid continental climate marked by huge seasonal temperature swings. Winters (November–March) are long and frigid, usually −15 to −25°C and capable of falling below −35°C in cold snaps, with snow lying for months. Summers (June–August) are short but warm, typically 22–28°C by day and occasionally above 30°C, with a few showers. Spring and autumn are quick, changeable transitions. Precipitation is moderate and concentrated in summer.
